Henry Arms Double Barrel Shotgun Serial Number
Henry Arms Company was a trade name used on shotguns by Anciens Etablissmenets Pieper, S.A. Dumoulin and Company, both of Liege, Belgium and Crescent Fire Arms Company of Norwich, CT. Please post detailed pictures of both sides of the gun, both sides and top and bottom of the receiver area and readable, close-ups of ALL markings including the barrel flats, barrel underside and the frame watertable for identification and evaluation. Please high light all markings with chalk or a white grease pencil for enhanced readability.
I particularly need to see the barrel flats (flat part of the barrels below the chamber when the barrels are removed from the action) to identify them maker.

This is a Belgium made Henry Arms Co side by side double barrel 12GA shotgun with damascus barrels. This is an antique shotgun with 30 inch barrels. Wood is intact with most of original checkering still visable but smooth. Locks up tight and functions fine. Bore is smooth with no major pitting.
Are you sure the gun was made in Belgium? If it was it will have belgian proof marks consisting of the letters 'ELG' in an oval stamped on the bottom of the barrels. There were three makers of tis 'Trade Brand Name', Anciens Etablissments Pieper and F. Dumoulin & Co both of Liege, Belgium and Crescent Fire Arms of Norwich,CT (1892to 1931). The Crescent made gun will have no proof marks and the serial number can be used to determine the year of manufacture. John, according to my information Crescent imported the Belgian made guns and sold all three, I have no information on a Henry Arms Company of St.
What info do you have? Good Morning John. I have both 'The Side-By-Side A History & Digest of Double Barrel Breech Loading Shotguns ' and 'Side-By-Sides of the World' by Charles E. In the Side-By-Side (dated 1989) on page 84 it says ' HENRY GUN CO: made in Belgium c/ 1900, no other history known.' There is no mention of a HENRY ARMS CO. In Side-By-Sides of the World (dated 1996) on page 72 it says 'HENRY ARMS CO, J.C.: Distributors trade name from S.T. For hammer and hammerless doubles made by Crescent Fire Arms CO.
