No Cd Crack For The Movies Stunts And Effects Load
Having recently installed Windows 10, I am mostly liking what it has to offer. Unfortunately, I am experiencing compatability issues with a piece of software that I use quite frequently.
Alternatively find a no-cd crack. Shuknight at 2009-04-12 02:09 CET: Hey everyone who has the Movies Has Encounter a Problem and needs to close, or if the Movies quits after the ATI splashscreen, I have a solution.
It is the 2005 PC game 'The Movies' (along with it's 'Stunts and Effects' expansion pack). This game ran perfectly fine with Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, I managed to run the game on these platforms with no issues. With Win 10 however, it seems as though the game just won't launch. I try running as Administrator, I try using compatibility mode (which has NEVER ever worked for me) but the game just simply doesn't start up whatsoever. I've launched a few PC games that are even older with no problems. The Movies still has a fairly active community in which I have a few movie projects I'm still working on with the software.
If I can't get it to run on Win 10, I'll have to downgrade or just abandon work on the projects, both of which I don't want to do at this point. Hoping someone can help me out here, cheers. Hi, I made the game working fine. I've got a 100% original french version. First, know the setup stucks if there is no compatibility option. So, I ran the setup from the disc (no autorun) as admin with a Windows Vista compatibility (maybe others compatibilities are OK but I didn't test them). Install was a success.
I tried to launch the game as admin with all compatibility options. Guardall guard station software. It never worked. I installed the official french patch 1.1, but I'm almost sure it changed nothing. I replaced the original.exe by the NoDisc.exe #1 that can be found for German/English version. I know this kind of thing is used for pirate versions, but I didn't find any other solution and it worked fine with my french game. Game launch was a success.
Still, I discovered bad textures bug on the characters waiting at the school of art (pure black textures, except their eyes) but not on characters waiting at the maintenance. Then I re-launched the game as admin with Window 98/Me compatibility this time.
All is good; textures cleared. I am not sure by where and why it is now working, but it is here all that I've done. Good luck to all of you.
Yes, this seems to be the only way to run The Movies on Windows 10. You need to replace the movies.exe file with a modified 'no-cd' version that you must find on the internet.
I'd give you a link, but I imagine it's against the rules to link to cracked software. A simple google search about 'no-cd' should get you going in the right direction.
Then you just replace 'movies.exe' file in your game's directory, and launch from there. Thank goodness this exists because it's a wonderful game and has never been followed up in 11 years now since its release. It's still really the only modern movies game, and it's terrible that no one can play it on Windows 10 without a cracked version. It'd be nice if they could patch it because I'm sure there are tons of movies fans who will never be aware of this work-around. Yes, this is one of the many games that Monopoly$oft has broken with it's DRM blocking. Imo - An extortion attempt aimed at getting people to buy a download version which has had the DRM removed. MS reckon these old DRM are a security threat, and to that end you are not allowed to risk the dubious potential threat imposed by them, so Win10 does not allow you to disable DRM blocking.
